Creative award to consortium serving needs of adult learners

San Diego, CA – The Sequoias Adult Education Consortium (SAEC) and Full Capacity Marketing, Inc. (FCM) are proud recipients of an International Davey Award for the logo identity that serves as the collective brand for the consortium partners. The SAEC was established in the spring of 2014 to develop a regional comprehensive plan to better serve the educational needs of adults in the region. The SAEC covers parts of Tulare and Kings Counties in California and its membership is comprised of the College of the Sequoias and the adult education providers of the ten school districts within the geographic boundaries of the college district. Additionally, the consortium includes partner organizations representing local community agencies and community based organizations.

SAEC partner and Principal, Visalia Adult School, John Werner said, “On behalf of all of the partners that are part of the SAEC, we are very honored to receive this award.  Having professional communications tools to help adult learners and inform our key partners are important goals for our members.”

The SAEC plays an important role in providing adults with education in the following program areas: 1) elementary and secondary basic skills, including classes required for a high school diploma or high school equivalency certificate; 2) classes and courses for immigrants eligible for education services in citizenship and English as a second language and workforce preparation classes in basic skills; 3) education programs for adults with disabilities; 4) short-term career technical education programs with high employment potential; and 5) programs for apprentices.

FCM’s CEO, Celina Shands Gradijan said, “It’s been such a pleasure to work with SAEC in building regional structures to support sustainability of their plan; the logo developed for this brand was a key component that translated to collateral materials and an interactive website that supports communication efforts and helps SAEC achieve their mission.”
