SACRAMENTO, Calif. – With nearly 4,000 global entries, the Academy of Interactive and Visual Arts (AIVA) awarded the Energy, Construction & Utilities Sector (ECU) and Full Capacity Marketing, Inc (FCM) three Davey’s for its innovative videos about students achieving success through community college programs. The Davey Awards is judged and overseen by the AIVA, a 700+ member organization of leading professionals from various disciplines of the visual arts dedicated to embracing progress and the evolving nature of traditional and interactive media. Current membership represents a “Who’s Who” of acclaimed media firms including Condé Nast, Disney, General Electric, Microsoft, Monster.com, MTV, and Yahoo! to name a few.
The ECU Sector is part of the California Community Colleges Doing What MATTERS for Jobs and the Economy framework which tackles large scale workforce and education challenges across the state in ten high growth sectors.
“We are so honored to accept these awards on behalf of our ECU team members who focus on creating innovations across the state in this very important sector,” said Mark Williams, Prop 39 director for the ECU Sector.
The three two-minute stories are compelling vignettes about students of all ages, and from walks of life, who changed their lives by finding ECU careers in home performance, energy efficiency, solar and renewable energy and green tech.
“We want Californians to understand the tremendous opportunities in the ECU sector,” added Williams. “The videos are part of our communications strategy to raise awareness about the available careers that can be achieved through training programs at local community colleges.”
